Why does Player Verify charge for its service?

I wanted to address some of the e-mails I've been receiving about our yearly fee of $9.95. Yes Player Verify does charge this fee but if you factor the days in a year our rate is only around 2 cents per day. Players can send as many ID or document verification requests to gaming sites as they want during the year at this rate. Faxing ID documents offshore can be costly and some gamers don't have fax machines so they go someplace like the UPS store and pay to fax them off. I've even read recently where some gaming sites request ID documents to be mailed. That's Crazy and the only half secure way to do this would be Fed X or another carrier that you can track. What's that going to cost you? So when looking at the overall picture Player Verify is cheap and your 2 cents per day will help us to stay online. :)

Player Verify also charges the same $9.95 fee per year to each gaming site who verifies their player documents through our secure site. Again for less than 2 cents per day an online gaming site can verify hundreds of players every day at a very low rate. If I operated a gaming site I'd cancel the fax line which I'm sure costs a pretty penny and start verifying players with the most secure system being offered on the net for 2 cents a day. Seems like a no brainer to me!

Finally, in order to keep our users honest a fee based system of some sort always works better than a free system. If Player Verify was free to all users then our system could be abused just as many free sites on the Internet are today. OK, I've addressed our site fee and if you have any comments please post below...
