Player Verify, LLC Applies for Nevada Online Poker Service Providers License

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Player Verify Applies for Nevada Online Poker Service Provider License with Nevada Gaming Control Board

FRANKLIN, Tenn., Aug. 23, 2012 – Online poker sites in Nevada have 30 days after a player registers to collect detailed identifying information about that player. The policy is known as Know Your Customer, or KYC, and it can be especially problematic for gambling sites that lack the verification tools to properly conduct KYC activities. But with Player Verify’s recent application for a Nevada online poker service provider license, KYC will soon become simple and accurate for Nevada-based online poker companies.

Of particular concern to site operators is Nevada’s legal requirement that all personal information shared with I-gaming sites is encrypted. That level of security is not possible with e-mail, which is how most offshore I-gaming sites currently request personal identification verification. Fortunately for Nevada online poker sites, Player Verify will now be available to bridge the gap.

Launched in 2010, Player Verify (https://www.playerverify.com/default.aspx) has quickly become the leading player verification and self-exclusion service for I-gaming sites and players. It is the most secure way available for online poker players to share their personal identification information -- including driver’s license, passport, and proof of address -- with I-gaming sites. Thanks to an exclusive partnership with tru.ly, verification of U.S. players through Player Verify is even more rigorous.

Player Verify also offers a centralized location for problem gamblers to self-exclude online. The Player Verify self-exclusion database is available for I-gaming sites to monitor in real time, as is the company’s real-time fraud reporting database, which is shared by multiple I-gaming sites.

“Nevada online poker sites know they have to follow KYC rules, and they do the best they can with the tools they have available,” said Player Verify managing member Mark Dalton. “Now that our online poker service provider license is pending with the Nevada Gaming Control Board, Player Verify is ready to give Nevada I-gaming sites a better, safer option for player verification.”

In fact, Nevada I-gaming companies who choose to use Player Verify’s player authentication services will have the ability to instantly authenticate player identity. The tru.ly-powered Player Verify Identity Checker tool matches information submitted by U.S. players to a nationwide database of government and public information. If the information submitted lines up with the information in the database, the player is verified. The system is also designed to screen out scammers, flagging users whose submitted information is indicative of fraud.

Player Verify Adds Tru.ly-Powered Identity Checker to I-Gaming Player Verification Hub

FRANKLIN, Tenn., May 8, 2012 -- The online gaming industry has a powerful new tool for verifying player identity, thanks to a collaboration between Player Verify (https://www.playerverify.com), the first secure online player verification site, and online identity verification powerhouse tru.ly (https://tru.ly). The Player Verify Identity Checker, powered by tru.ly, enables gaming sites to authenticate player identity instantly through PlayerVerify.com.

The gaming industry must verify players' identities, and that means requesting sensitive information -- like drivers' licenses, Social Security numbers and birth certificates -- from online gamers. For players, the verification process is a hassle and a security risk. For gaming sites, it's time-consuming and disorganized.

With the new Player Verify Identity Checker, players and the I-gaming industry have an additional layer of security. The tool, powered by tru.ly, matches U.S. players' submitted information to a national database of government and public data and verifies players if their information matches. The proprietary tru.ly technology flags users who may be trying to conduct fraud.

"With the U.S. Department of Justice's recent reversal of its long-established opinion on Internet gambling, Player Verify with Identity Checker is a great fit for the I-gaming industry moving forward," stated Player Verify managing member Mark Dalton. "As more states and private enterprises claim their piece of the legal online poker and state lottery pie, secure and reliable player identity verification will become more important than ever."

Player Verify serves as a secure conduit between gaming sites and players. I-gamblers securely upload their sensitive documents to PlayerVerify.com, which stores the information, and then they can send a request to any I-gaming site to view only the documents the I-gambler selects through a secure access code. Conversely, the site also gives players the ability to self-exclude just once, instead of going to multiple gaming sites to self-exclude. When given access by an I-gambler, online gaming companies can view player documents and self-exclusions in one place, without the need to handle and store players' sensitive information. Player Verify Identity Checker is included for free with Player Verify memberships for I-gaming websites.

New Jersey Passes IGaming Bill

The bill, sponsored by state Sens. Ray Lesniak (D-Union) and James Whelan (D-Atlantic), was approved by 11 senators at Tuesday's hearing, with only Sen. Paul Sarlo (D-Wood-Ridge) abstaining. The next step for the bill is a full Senate and Assembly vote, which likely won't happen until later this month at the earliest.

Last year, the New Jersey legislature passed similar bills to legalize online gambling, but Gov. Chris Christie vetoed the measures, citing “legal and constitutional concerns.”However, Christie's stance changed last December when the DOJ reversed its interpretation of the Wire Act.

IL Lottery Online Gambling Goes Live

Looks like IL is going to fire up online lottery sales via the internet on Sunday the 24th..

So what's their strategy preventing underage gamblers from purchasing online IL lottery tickets?

Surely it's not just the use of a debit/credit card, name/address and SS# etc.. They need to be robust in this area like the offshore gaming sites, not rely solely on some internal verification program running during registration.

I hope they look at the Nevada online poker regulations for online gambling and verification requirements.

Player Verify provides a solution for U.S. lottery sites with secure hard document IGaming verification.

Mississippi Online Casino's, Maybe!

Add Mississippi to the list of states considering legalizing Internet gambling.

On Wednesday, House Minority Leader Bobby Moak, D–Bogue Chitto, introduced House Bill 1373 that would allow residents 21 and older to play poker and other casino games online in Mississippi. Moak is the former chairman of the House Gaming Committee.
The bill says millions of people are gambling on illegal offshore websites.

What I like about this bill is that it's not just online poker, it's slots etc.. It also appears you don't have to be an established land based casino in Mississippi as long as you can abide by the commissions regulation requirements but I could be wrong, unlike Nevada.

I was reading fast but it appeared as long as you have the funding and can meet their standards an operator could operate a full blown online casino within the state after meeting all requirements.

Of course the bill has to pass first. You can read more here!

Online Gambling Win/Loss Tool

PlayerVerify.com has just launched a new Win/Loss Tool for its fully registered members.

The tool allows players to enter their start and end date for the period they're wanting to track.

Players simply enter their bet amounts, win amounts, loss amounts into the tool and it keeps track of how they're doing, for the period entered. Players can login and update their gambling Win/Loss data whenever needed.

As the U.S. expands into online gambling, whether it's Nevada online poker, or state lottery online gambling the PlayerVerify.com tool is a must when it comes to an online casino player and online poker player Win/Loss calculator.
